Teresa and Larry O’Leary moved to Milford Borough in December 2017 and have been active, dedicated members of the community ever since.

Teresa, born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY, grew up with her Irish grandmother, Mary Smith, in the same household. She proudly traces her family roots back to the 1850s in County Mayo. Before meeting Larry, Teresa built a career in finance with the City of New York. After marrying and moving to Monroe, NY, she balanced family life while working part-time.

 

In Milford, Teresa has generously contributed her time and talents through a variety of community initiatives, including:

• Supporting the work of the Milford Enhancement Committee

• Supporting the Milford Welcome Party

• Active membership in the Rotary Club

• Serving on a Greentrees Early Learning Center Committee

• Volunteering at Grey Towers, assisting in the gift shop

 

Larry, born in the Bronx, NY, is the proud son of Irish immigrant parents from Counties Kerry and Wexford. Educated by Dominican nuns and later at an Irish Christian Brothers high school, Larry built a successful 43-year career in technology, working for major banks and insurance companies, including JP Morgan and Equitable Life.

 

His local contributions include:

• Serving on the Milford Enhancement Committee

• Assisting with the Milford Welcome Party

• Supporting the Milford Clean-Up Day event

• Assisting the Columns Museum with its Tunes at the Towpath event

• Serving on the Board of Directors for the Greentrees Early Learning Center

• Helping lead the outreach for the ongoing “40 for 40” campaign, with a goal to raise $40,000 in celebration of Greentrees’ 40 years of service (formerly Good Shepherd)

• Membership in the Milford Garden Club

• Volunteering at Grey Towers, helping maintain the Laurel Hill burial grounds

 

Teresa and Larry are proud parents of Bill and Steve, and doting grandparents to Liam, Aidan, Jack, and Patrick.
